This is the pre-eminent wine for toasts. The Cava region encompasses the sparkling wines made according to the traditional method of a second fermentation in the bottle.
The area where the majority of production is concentrated (Penedés) has a Mediterranean climate.
The varieties used most in its production are the Xarello, the Parellada and the Macabeo.
